Spectionz Ltd is a clean technology development company established in 2004. The company has developed a unique process, which produces ‘value add’ products from various organic feedstocks.

The process is unique in its efficiencies (temperature, self-sufficiency), scalability (modular, small scale and/or industrial scale) and potential for commercialisation across multiple applications (the same process can take various feedstocks to produce various products) lifting performance in recovering economic value from waste.

Benefits include:

• Developing resource recovery option for other organic wastes, including plastics, paper, green waste, biosolids and waste petroleum products currently going to landfill.
• Producing a second source of bio-gas at landfill sites (to augment methane recovery from existing landfills), significantly increasing the viability of renewable energy generation at landfills.
• Improving the economic value from waste by developing the by-products into products of value providing local employment opportunities and reducing waste going to landfills by as much as 90%.
• Recovering resources from waste plastics, paper and cardboard from the region where the waste originated as opposed to shipping waste overseas for reprocessing where there is little to no control on environmental conditions.
• Promoting the life-cycle of waste to residents with recovered resources being produced and utilised within the region.
• Producing carbon sequested biochar from organic waste, which can also potentially be used to reduce nutrient leaching into waterways and nitrous oxide generation (currently under investigation).
• The technology development is progressing with a pilot testing plant established at a local waste water treatment plant assessing the viability of processing sewage sludge.
